1. Niyat (Intention) | نیت
Urdu: سب سے پہلے دل میں صاف نیت رکھیں کہ آپ اللہ سے رہنمائی چاہتے ہیں۔ نیت میں خلوص ہونا بہت ضروری ہے۔ مثال:
اللّٰہ تعالیٰ! مجھے اس معاملے میں درست رہنمائی عطا فرما۔
یہ نیت صرف اللہ کے لیے ہونی چاہیے، نہ کہ دکھاوا یا دوسروں کو خوش کرنے کے لیے۔
English: First, make a sincere intention in your heart that you are seeking guidance from Allah. Example: “O Allah, guide me in this matter to make the best decision.” The intention should be pure and for Allah alone, not for showing off or impressing others.
2. Wudu (Ablution) | وضو
Urdu: استخارہ سے پہلے وضو کرنا مستحب ہے تاکہ دل اور جسم عبادت کی حالت میں ہوں۔ یہ روحانی تیاری کے لیے ضروری ہے۔
English: Performing Wudu (ablution) before Istikhara is recommended so that your heart and body are in a state of worship. It helps in spiritual preparation and focus.
3. Do Rak’at Prayer | دو رکعت نماز
Urdu: استخارہ کی نماز سنت نہیں ہے، لیکن دو رکعت نماز پڑھنا مستحب ہے:
- پہلی رکعت: سورہ فاتحہ کے بعد کوئی سورہ پڑھیں۔
- دوسری رکعت: سورہ فاتحہ کے بعد کوئی سورہ پڑھیں۔
English: Although Istikhara prayer is not mandatory, it is recommended to offer two Rak’at prayer:
- First Rak’at: Recite Surah Al-Fatiha followed by any other Surah.
- Second Rak’at: Recite Surah Al-Fatiha followed by another Surah.
4. Dua Istikhara | دعا استخارہ
Urdu: نماز کے بعد درج ذیل دعا پڑھیں:
اَللّٰہُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ، وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِن فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلا أَقْدِرُ، وَتَعْلَمُ وَلا أَعْلَمُ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ. اللّٰهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي فِي عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْلِي فِيهِ، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي فِي عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ وَاقْدُرْلِيَ الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِي بِهِ
English: After prayer, recite the Istikhara Dua as follows: “O Allah, I seek Your guidance by Your knowledge and seek ability by Your power, and ask You from Your great bounty. If You know this matter to be good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affairs, then decree it for me, make it easy for me, and bless me in it. If You know it to be bad for me, then turn it away from me and decree for me what is good wherever it may be, and make me pleased with it.”
5. Trust in Allah | توکل
Urdu: دعا کے بعد دل کو اللہ پر رکھیں۔ استخارہ کا مقصد اللہ کی رہنمائی حاصل کرنا ہے۔ جو فیصلہ آئے، اس پر توکل کریں۔
English: After making the Dua, place your trust in Allah. Istikhara is meant to seek guidance, so accept the outcome and rely on Allah’s wisdom.

Urdu: بعض اوقات استخارہ کے بعد خواب، دل کی راحت یا آسانی/مشکل محسوس ہونا اللہ کی طرف سے رہنمائی سمجھا جاتا ہے۔ فوراً واضح نشانی تلاش کرنے کی ضرورت نہیں۔
