Find Accurate Qibla Direction from Current Location

This tool estimates the accurate Qibla direction from your current location using mobile GPS and compass sensor. It can help you find Qibla direction in Pakistan, India, UK, USA, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and worldwide.

How to Use Online Qibla Compass

Tap the “Find Qibla Now” button and allow location permission. The online Qibla compass will show the Qibla angle from north and guide you toward the Kaaba direction. For better results, use Chrome or Safari on an HTTPS connection.

Qibla Direction Finder Accuracy Tips

Keep your mobile away from magnets, speakers, laptops, power banks, metal objects, and car dashboards. These can disturb the mobile compass. If the Qibla compass seems unstable, move your phone slowly in an 8-shape to calibrate the compass.

Qibla Direction for Salah and Prayer

The Qibla is the direction Muslims face during Salah. When you are travelling, visiting a new place, or praying in an unfamiliar location, this Islamic Qibla tool can help you find the correct prayer direction quickly.

Mobile Qibla Finder and Kaaba Direction Tool

This mobile Qibla finder works best on smartphones because most phones have GPS and compass sensors. Desktop computers and laptops usually do not have compass sensors, so the Qibla direction map or compass may not work properly on desktop browsers.

Qibla Direction from Major Cities (Table)

The table below shows the Qibla direction in degrees from true North (clockwise) for major cities, calculated on the great-circle (shortest) path to the Kaaba (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E). A mobile compass shows magnetic North, which can differ from true North by a few degrees in some regions, so small differences are normal.

Why is Qibla North-East from America and not South-East? The earth is round, so the shortest path from North America to Makkah curves over the North Atlantic. That is why the Qibla from New York or Houston points North-East, even though Makkah looks “south-east” on a flat map.

How to Find Qibla Without a Phone

• Sun over the Kaaba (Istiwa-e-Azam): Twice a year the sun is directly above the Kaaba – around 27–28 May at 09:18 UTC and 15–16 July at 09:27 UTC. At that exact moment, wherever the sun is visible, a vertical stick’s shadow points directly away from the Qibla – so face the opposite way of the shadow, towards the sun.
• Ask the local masjid: The mihrab of a nearby mosque shows the Qibla used by the local community.
• Rough guide by sun: In Pakistan and India the Qibla is roughly towards sunset (West); in the UK roughly towards the South-East.

Qibla in the Quran

Allah commanded the believers to face the Masjid al-Haram in prayer:

فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ ۚ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنْتُمْ فَوَلُّوا وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُ

“So turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Haram. And wherever you are, turn your faces toward it.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:144). Facing the Qibla is a condition for Salah. If someone tries their best to find the direction and later learns it was slightly wrong, scholars say the prayer is still valid, because the duty is to make a sincere effort (ijtihad).
